I’m an old man at heart, and I’ve always wanted one of these. I’d finally have a big comfy leather chair to smoke cigars in. And this one has a sunroof. I wish the price was just a bit lower. (Also I wish it were black/black, but I do like this blue.)
Last night I found t here’s a possibility that my GAP coverage includes an extra $1000 towards a replacement car financed through my credit union. This one is cheap enough that I could finance it only for a year or two and it wouldn’t impact my plan to pay off bills that much. I don’t know if they’re willing to finance a car so old though, even if it’s a short term loan. This thing would get driven less than 10k a year, maybe less than 5k. I doubt it would take much $$ for maintenance.

I kind of want to get a 6 series convertible for this reason. Just drive around Greenville with the top down and cigar in my hand.

/me wonders why people keep coming here to ask people to stop them from doing something of questionable smartness
you know we gonna tell you to get it
(unless its a juke)

That’s why we come here, so that we can say “all the guys told me to get it, so I got it!”
By the time my bank sorts out the whole thing with my wrecked car, this thing will probably be sold. So the danger is minimal right now.

Yeah, that sounds nice too. I’d be afraid to have a soft-top convertible in my neighborhood though.

I actually really like that blue. It also has heated seats to help keep you toasty while you vent cigar smoke on chilly days.
I’d definitely look into the information about your gap insurance. If you can get $1000 from them and talk the seller down a bit it could be a damn good deal.
If you don’t buy this it’d at least be good to know how long you have before the $1,000 offer expires.

I find myself looking through Florida craigslists looking for these, hoping to find grandpa’s last car. Hoping to find a low-mileage example to use as a daily.
If I ever got one, I would show up with a bumper sticker that said, “Tell your grandma I said hi” and put it on right after taking possession
.

I’m not sure if mine includes it, but I spotted it on their website. I can’t remember if that was discussed.
I’ve given myself an ultimatum that I can't buy anything unless it's a car I really want. This is one of them, along with an older pickup truck or a Jeep Wrangler. I don't need a vehicle, so I don't have to get something sensible.

I love these Lincoln Town Cars, they’re so comfortable. I almost bought one instead of my TSX and while I’m glad I didn’t, a part of me still wants one.
I guess I’m 19 going on 79.

I’m definitely from the same mold as my grandfather. Same car preference, same love of scotch and cigars, same sense of humor.

If anything, being able to appreciate cars like that makes you MORE of an enthusiast than you r average car boi.

That blue is the best color these came in. You should buy it.

There are some handsome blond men with beards running around on a soccer pitch right now, that should keep you distracted for a bit.

Yeah, but soccer players aren't really my type, with a couple exceptions. Rugby players, on the other hand...
